Campus Kindergarten operates a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten (Pre-Prep) program in a long-day care setting. The centre opens at 7.50 am and closes at 5.30 pm. Campus Kindy caters for two age groups:

Pre-Kindergarten	2.5 to 3.5 years (turning 3 before 30th June of that year)	16 children
Kindergarten, room 1	3 to 4 years (turning 4 before 30th June of that year)	22 children
Kindergarten, room 2	3 to 4 years (turning 4 before 30th June of that year)	22 children

 

There is a committed team of teachers who work in each room, led by a Coordinating Teacher (a qualified early childhood teacher).  In total there are up to 20 full-time and part-time people who work very effectively as the team of Campus Kindy staff. Campus Kindy places a high value on the teacher-child ratio and is generously staffed above the norm to ensure an extra level of support for the children and the program.

Campus Kindergarten offers a two, three and five day program as follows:

·   Three day group               Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday;

·    Two day group                  Thursday - Friday;

·   Five day group                  Monday-Friday

Campus Kindergarten is open for 48 weeks of the year.  

Campus Kindergarten is licensed for 60 places per day increasing to 75 once our new Pre-Kindy classroom opens. Plans have already been developed and we look forward to a new room in the not too distant future..

An early childhood education program is implemented during the four State school terms. Optional Vacation Care is available during the school holidays.

The daily management of the centre is the responsibility of the Director or in his/her absence the Centre Manager.

Lady Gowrie kindergarten affiliation

The centre is proudly affiliated with the national network of kindergartens run by Lady Gowrie.   This affiliation is significant for Campus Kindergarten for a number of reasons, including professional recognition and invaluable support from Gowrie through an early childhood education consultant. 

In order to comply with state and federal requirements Campus Kindergarten adheres to a number of comprehensive guidelines and policies.  Support form Lady Gowrie ensures that the centre is always undergoing a process of self renewal and improvement. This assures that the highest standard of early childhood educational program is offered and promotes best practice in management.

Campus Kindy also has professional links to highly respected associations such as the Early Childhood Association, the Reggio Emilia Information Exchange of Australia, PSCQ and ECTA.

Vacation Care-School Holiday program

·         Optional program for Campus Kindy children during school holidays

·         Campus Kindergarten staff develops the program for each school holiday program

·         Bookings are made two weeks prior to the Vacation period

·         Campus Kindy closes for four weeks each year over late December-January

·         Vacation Care is staffed by current staff with additional support if needed

·         Vacation Care is a relaxed, informal program.
