parenting matters
Campus Kindy is totally committed to supporting the role of parents as the first and primary carers and educators of their children. During the courses of the year a number of opportunities are arranged in areas such as parenting, communication, health and well being for children and these courses are open to interested parents from other centres and areas.
In 2011 we will be running the very
successful Five Faces of Parenting program,
A PARENTING PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, ASSISTING PARENTS WITH PARENTING.
This program, the five faces of parenting, is very different from any parenting program that people would have done before. If parents come to this program wanting to make a difference then they will be able to. They will experience new ways of looking at the children, their family, and their parenting role within the family. Using the power of the group technique parents will be able to engage in positive self-help and, not only receive and gain new tactics, but also be able to share their wisdom for the benefit of others. In this the facilitator has a key role and will be a helpful person in allowing the group to gain the most from this program.
A range of books for parents are available in the parent library located in the staff room.
