The flexible design of CAAS and the extensive resources of UQ and DPI&F staff provide a wealth of capability across a wide range of species.
While primarily designed for agriculturally significant species, the flexible nature of the facility allows pen construction to be adapted to a wide range of different species.
CAAS is designed to provide cost effective research facilities.
The integrity of the work conducted at CAAS is paramount and there is a considerable amount of induction and security provided to ensure safety of workers and their projects.
All projects are subject to Animal Ethics and Welfare scrutiny through either the DPI&F AEC or the UQ AEC.
The contained facilities will be registered with OGTR and AQIS as required and maintained at the highest standard possible to ensure containment.
