The community publication Mines, Mills and Shopping Malls has been published by the UQ Boilerhouse Community Engagement Centre to celebrate the development of Ipswich's identity from its earlier beginnings to the present day. An aim of this Q150 funded project, is to strengthen local understandings of Ipswich within a changing context of rapid urban development and population influx. The publication takes its direction from a research collection of historical records, anecdotal experiences and interviews conducted with six local leaders.
