Background:
Dana has undertaken various research and teaching roles with the University of Queensland since 2004.
Dana has a strong theoretical background in social sciences, complemented with over 20 years practical experience in the fields of community consultation and partnerships, agricultural extension, environmental education, national park interpretation and natural resource management. Each year, Dana coordinates and teaches a university course on Stakeholder Engagement in rangeland management.
 
Prior to her PhD, Dana was the Queensland state-wide coordinator for Extension for weeds and feral animals Land Protection section, Department of Natural Resources and Water. Prior to this she was a Regional Interpretation Officer with the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service, worked for environmental conservation groups such as Moreton Island Protection Committee and had managerial positions with Binna Burra Lodge, at eco-tourism lodges at Carnarvon and in the Gold Coast hinterland.
