In April 1999, the Community Service and Research Centre was established as part of the brand new UQ Ipswich campus. Its aim was to support and facilitate partnerships between the UQ Ipswich Campus and the broader community.
After five years of operation the Boilerhouse is entering an exciting new phase of development. As well as a redefined role in community engagement, changes include new:
- People (staff, advisory committee members and project stakeholders)
- Name (UQ Boilerhouse Community Engagement Centre)
- Projects (explore the website for more details)
- Facilities (a refurbished heritage building in Ipswich - the old ‘Boilerhouse’)
These developments present a unique opportunity for the Boilerhouse to engage with both established and new stakeholders to facilitate just and sustainable community outcomes.
