Profile and Research Interests
Paul has over 20 years experience in medical statistics. He is currently employed by Queensland Institute of Medical Research to provide statistical support to QIMR researchers (includes research design, grant applications, ethics applications, data definition and management, data analysis, statistical interpretation and preparation of publications, etc). He is a member of both the Scientific Subcommittee and the Clinical Trials Protocol Committee at QIMR.
Paul was employed for over 9 years as Lecturer in Statistics at USQ and he has held a variety of other statistics-oriented positions at Queensland Health, University of Newcastle (Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Medicine), St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and Westmead Hospital. Throughout much of his career Paul’s role has been providing statistical support in multi-disciplinary health research teams: most often in the areas of public health, epidemiology and health services evaluation. His current position with QIMR will see a continuation of this plus some broadening to include genetic research, pharmacological trials, etc.
