PROVIDENTIAE CAESS. MNA
Constantius II, third son of Constantine the Great, was made Caesar in 323 and put in charge of the administration of Gaul in 332, at the age of fifteen. Asia, Syria and Egypt came under his care three years later. The extremely clear reverse is of considerable architectural interest. The stone blocks decrease in size as they go higher, possibly in an attempt to convey perspective.
Comparanda:
C., Constance II 167.
