Adult Visits
Tours of the Antiquities Museum with an Education Officer are available for adult interest groups and can be tailored to a vareity of interests and topics indlucing the ancient world, museum collections or archaeology. Tours of the museum last one hour with an education officer and can focus on a particular aspect of the collection or be a more general overview. Workshops provide a further hour of in-depth study into a number of topics relating to the ancient world. These workshops use a variety of artefacts from the museum's teaching collection and replica collection.
Workshop Themes
Four seperate workshops are available which have been tailored to cover a variety of topics in the ancient world, focusing on the use of artefacts to construct the stories of people in the past. Workshops can be selected from the following list:
- Ancient Egypt: The Valley of the Kings
- Ancient Rome: A Romano-British Farmstead
- Ancient Greece: Olympia
- Museums, Archaeology and Artefacts
Costs
Tours and Workshops incur a small fee (listed below) per student. Accompanying teachers and adults are free of charge. There should be at least 1 teacher or supervising adult per 25 students visiting the museum. In a session lasting 2 hours (1hr Tour, 1hr Workshop) the maximum number of students supported by the museum is 50. Groups over 25 will be divided into two sessions which will run concurrently, groups over 50 require two seperate sessions.

At least two weeks notice is prefered for all school bookings. You will be required to provide your organisation's ABN before your visit and the museum will confirm your booking by email approximately 1 week before your visit.
