Roman Glassware: Jug

Series of seven indentations round the middle of the jug's body. Decorative volute at the end of the handle protrudes above the lip. The round bottom prevents the jug from standing upright, but a rough, broken area on the bottom of the vessel seems to indicate that some sort of base was once attached. Light olive green colour. A number of impurities in the glass.
