50 Plus Registry

The 50 Plus Registry

The University of Queensland currently undertakes research into ageing across most of its Faculties and Schools. To coordinate this university-wide effort, the Ageing Mind Initiative has established the 50+ Registry, a database of people over 50 years who are willing to participate in the University of Queensland's research projects in ageing.

If you would like to be added to this register, would like to change your existing details, or access the database as a researcher, please email ami@uq.edu.au and write "50 Plus Registry" in the subject heading.

Informationfor Registrants

We welcome the very young (those 50-65 years of age), as well as those more senior to join this database. People on the 50+ Register are invited to be involved in projects that match their interests. Many projects involve meeting other people on the Registry. To express your interest in becoming involved please email ami@uq.edu.au

The process of getting involved:

When a potential registrant expresses interest in joining the 50+ Registry they will be sent a participant information sheet and consent form. This form needs to be returned to AMI project officer.

What you will receive:

Registrants will receive AMI newsletters via post every couple of months. The newsletter will advertise functions, activities and events that may be of interest to members in the community. The newsletter will also contain details of the current research projects that registrants may be interested in participating in.

All of the information concerning AMI events and research projects for the community will be available online through this website. If you lose your copy of the newsletter, you can download an electronic copy through the AMI website.

Information for Researches

AMI supports individuals and teams dedicated to conducting research with ageing populations. However, the first priority of AMI is to maintain the safety and security of its valued participants and registrants. For this reason all contact to members of the registrants is done through AMI. The process of getting involved:

To promote your research project to members of the 50+ Registry you must have ethical clearance from The University of Queensland Ethical Review Committee you must submit proof of ethical clearance, details of your project and a signed agreement of use form to AMI. To get copies of all these forms contact ami@uq.edu.au

Opportunities to promote your research:

Once you are a successfully registered research project with the Ageing Mind Initiative you will be able to advertise your research project to members of the 50+ Registry. You will be able to do this through two main avenues.

1. An opportunity to place an advertisement in the outgoing AMI newsletter. This advertisement may be renewed in following additions pending the length of your project.
2. You may advertise your research project on the AMI webpage on the research projects webpage.
