Associate Professor Theo Sloots is the Director of the Queensland Paediatric Infectious Disease Laboratory at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Assoc. Prof. Sloots’s research interests lies in the molecular microbiology and epidemiology of respiratory infections in children.

Assoc. Prof. Sloots seeks to identify novel viruses and understand the mechanism of bacterial infections in children with cystic fibrosis.

In addition, Assoc. Prof. Sloots seeks to improve diagnosis and detection of infectious diseases.
