Associate Professor Rohan Teasdale’s research is focused on the identification and characterisation of novel mammalian proteins of the endosomal system. The trafficking pathways within the endosomal system are fundamental for a variety of key cellular processes. However, numerous infectious pathogens exploit these pathways to invade the host. Assoc. Prof. Teasdale is interested in the molecular details of these pathways and how they are modulated in response to infection with Salmonella, a leading cause of human gastroenteritis. The group is also focused on the examination of the distinct stages of macropinocytosis and the characterisation of the mammalian retromer complex
