Michael Monteiro

Professor Michael Monteiro’s research is aimed to develop methodologies to synthesise complex polymer architectures in water with controlled particle size, molecular weight, and morphology. The polymer architectures that have been made by the Monteiro group include amphiphilic block star and dendritic polymer architectures. These novel polymers are used to gain an understanding of structure-property relationships so that targeted properties can be developed for specific biomedical applications, such as drug or vaccine delivery devices. Prof. Monteiro is an ARC Future Fellow at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering & Nanotechnology.
