Professor Bostjan Kobe’s research focuses on protein structure and function, with an emphasis on understanding the structural basis of intra- and inter-molecular interactions formed by these macromolecules and inferring function from structure.

Prof. Kobe is particularly interested in structure-function relationships of proteins involved in infection and immunity, for example macrophage proteins and proteins for retroviral and dengue virus membrane fusion.

The group utilises the structural and molecular information to design new therapeutic targets and biotechnological applications.
