Guide to UQ Advertising
All advertising for The University of Queensland is placed through the Advertising Office of the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC). This is to ensure consistency in the promotion of the UQ brand and cost effectiveness in advertising expenditure.
UQ is a member of the Qld Government Media Buying Group and can therefore take advantage of discounted rates on most national newspapers. To utilise these government discounts all bookings must be made by the Advertising Office via the Master Media Suppliers - TMP Worldwide or Mediacom. All media costs are charged ex GST and attract a rebate (in addition to the discounted rates) from the Master Media Supplier.
A 6% Advertising Levy (as of 1 July 2012) is charged to the requesting unit for the setting, booking and despatch of advertisements.
This OMC Advertising website includes further information on how to create and place advertisements, copies of media kits including rates and specifications, and information on newspaper features. If you can't find what you need here then please contact the Advertising Office.
