Mr Stephen Hooper
He has worked as an employment lawyer and mediator in private and public practice. He was appointed as the Chief Mediator for the Employment Relations Service, a division of the New Zealand Department of Labour that provides employment mediation for private and public sector employers and employees addressing 10,000 cases per year ranging from strikes interventions to grievance mediations.
He has been engaged by a number of government and private sector groups to design conflict management programs. In the last 5 years, he has been working in international conflict transformation work with World Vision. He has designed conflict resolution programs, trust and relationship building trainings in complex setting including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bosnia and Aceh. The programs have explored inter-faith and inter-cultural team and relationship building. Stephen currently works for ACPACs at University of Queensland as the Director of Training for the Vanuatu Kastom Governance while he completes his PhD in on cross cultural and inter-faith conflict.
