The Centre hosted the event to thank those members who volunteered to participate in research projects organized by the 50+ Registry in 2007. The event also provides an opportunity for those newly joined members to find out more about ageing research at UQ and to meet other registry members.

The participants learnt about the latest developments on research on life extension, public perceptions on tissue banks and on how to get strong and stay healthy in old age. Short talks were also arranged on interesting topics such as financial planning for retirement and exercise programs offered by the UQ Sport.

Morning tea was served between the presentations with a performance by Who’s Counting Barbershop Quartet which is Australian Association of Men Barbershop Singers Australian Senior Champions for the past three years.
