Schonell Theatre complex

The Schonell Theatre is a theatre and cinema complex at the University of Queensland. The UQU Schonell Theatre regularly screens the best of art house, Australian, and foreign films and independent releases. Cinema runs from Thursdays to Mondays at the Schonell.

The theatre is also used for live theatre productions, university lectures, and can be booked for special screenings and events. It has available for hire, our four multi-purpose function rooms with a capacity of up to 500 guests and can be arranged to suit  individual requirements. Perfect for lectures, conferences, seminars, training courses, meetings and events. University staff and students, as well as members from the community, are welcome to book these facilities.
