Areas of responsibility
Professor Roger Swift has overall academic, financial and personnel responsibility for the Faculty. The Faculty has four schools: Animal Studies; Land, Crop and Food Sciences; Natural and Rural Systems Management; and Veterinary Science. Professor Swift is based at UQ Gatton and has major responsibilities at the St Lucia and other campuses.


Biography
Professor Swift, a Birmingham University (U.K.) graduate, was appointed Executive Dean in 2001. Previously, he was Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO; Chief, Division of Soils at CSIRO; and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food at the University of Reading, England.

Professor Swift has also held appointments with the University of Western Australia; the University of Manchester; Edinburgh University; and Lincoln University in New Zealand, where he was Head, Department of Soil Science and later Vice-Principal (now designated Deputy Vice-Chancellor).
