School of Music staff, students and guests give weekly lunchtime concerts (free admission) and occasional Sunday afternoon recitals in the Nickson Performance Room, Zelman Cowen Building at St Lucia. The Queensland University Symphony Orchestra, University Chorale and chamber choir Concentus also perform in various venues.

Dinner, twilight and free Sunday concerts by School of Music performers are part of a full concert program in the Long Room at Customs House. Non-University groups such as Operatif!, the Imogen Youth Choir and the Youth Music Foundation also perform there.

The new multi-purpose UQ Centre at St Lucia hosts sporting and cultural events, trade shows, and conferences. The UQ Centre Theatre seats up to 500 people and the UQ Centre Exhibition Hall accommodates more than 2000.
